Skier often need to spend some time getting fitted for their new ski boots. Other times, they are forced to have custom work done to their boots before they are able to ski in them. However, a company is now looking to provide skiers with a more comfortable experience. To do this, they have launched an app that will enable skiers to create 3D printed insoles.
ALPrint is a British start-up that enables users to create cheap, bespoke 3D printed ski boot insoles, simply by taking cell phone photos of your feet. These pictures are then used to calculate the foot dimensions and thereafter matched by an algorithm to a database that hosts foot profiles. ALPrint will then analyze the information and have their 3D printers create insoles that fit you perfectly and deliver them to you.
With this new technology from ALPrint, it is now possible for skiers to individualize their boots through the creation of 3D printed insoles. This way, the skier gets to enjoy boots that are more comfortable to wear, and even better with regards to performance. This is also ideal for skiers who cannot afford to spend hundreds of dollars for a new pair of ski boots.
